Reading....

   Many students have done well with the use of their Chrome Books to complete their Chapter 1 questions. Many, however, are not using their Success Criteria that was given to them and many could do a better job of re-reading their answers for editing corrections.

   As we continue to move ' Up the Mountain ', which is a term that helps the students realize that by using their Success Criteria their seat work should improve dramatically....moving from a C...C+....B- ....B+....A-....to the top of the mountain which is an A.

  It is all part of an overall process so I am hopeful that you, as parents, will continue to work with your son / daughter to help them move up and improve their understanding of the novel and their abilities to express their answers comprehensively with fewer Spelling and Grammatical errors. 

All students have been placed into their Reading Novel Study groups. Our first focus was to assist every student to get into Google Classroom to access the assignments. Secondly, we showed them all how to simultaneously open Google Docs ( even with the Dictation feature.) This will allow your son / daughter to flip between the questions and writing their answers into Google Docs.
For many this is a new process and takes a few chapters of work for them to become used to this process. This will become the main stay of our written Reading seat work throughout the year.

Novel Study: 

 Mouse and the Motorcycle;  Reading Chapter 2 and begin Chapter 2 questions on Google Classroom. Due date to follow 

4th Grade Rats: Reading Chapter 2 and begin questions on Google Classroom.
Due Date to follow
I want to go home: Begin reading Chapter 2 and start on questions on Google Classroom. Due date to follow
